To enhance the overall atmosphere of the venue and its adaptability to multi-functional scenarios, Yuqing Building joined hands with Color Imagination to launch a comprehensive stage lighting upgrade project. 1. Project Background and Demand Analysis

1.1 Project Background

As an old-brand tea house in the central area of Jiangmen, Yuqing Building has accumulated a good reputation locally since its establishment in 2005, relying on an 800-square-meter business space and core businesses such as classic Cantonese morning tea, traditional Cantonese cuisine, and characteristic folk performances. In recent years, as consumers’ requirements for the experience of consumption scenarios have increasingly improved, the original lighting system of the venue has gradually shown shortcomings—it not only has uneven brightness distribution and single scene mode switching but also is difficult to match the romance of wedding banquets, the solemnity of birthday banquets, and the professional needs of Cantonese opera performances in atmosphere creation. To break through this limitation, Yuqing Building decided to comprehensively upgrade the lighting of the stage and public areas, and finally selected Color Imagination as the partner for this upgrade project.

2.1 Overall Design Concept

Color Imagination deeply integrates Lingnan cultural elements with modern stage lighting technology. With warm tones as the main tone and lamps with adjustable color temperature and brightness, it creates a layered and artistic light and shadow effect in different scenarios, which not only retains the traditional charm of the tea house but also enhances the modern sense and atmosphere of the space through professional stage lighting design.

2.2 Lighting Configuration for Core Areas

(1) Main Stage Area

The main stage is the core area for Yuqing Building to hold performances and ceremonies, and the lighting configuration adopts a “multi-level and full-dimensional” design:

• Front Light: 6 Color Imagination follow spots are selected, with a power of 200W and a color temperature of up to 5600K, which evenly illuminate the stage performance area to ensure that the performer’s face is clearly visible without shadow dead ends.
• Side Light: 4 par lights are installed on each side, with adjustable color temperature from 3200K to 5600K, which enhances the depth and three-dimensional sense of the stage and creates rich light and shadow layers in cooperation with the front light.
• Top Light: 8 high-performance moving head wash lights are installed, a key component of the stage lighting system. These moving head lights support RGBW full-color washing and flexible angle adjustment. They can switch colors such as red (wedding banquet), gold (birthday banquet), and warm yellow (morning tea) according to scenario needs. At the same time, they have a pattern projection function, which can project Lingnan patterns, auspicious clouds, etc., on the background wall, making the stage lighting more dynamic and expressive.
• Back Light: 4 beam lights are installed at the back of the stage, forming a strong backlight effect, highlighting the performer’s outline, and enhancing the sense of space and explosive power of the stage.

(2) Public Dining Area

The public area adopts a stage light combination method of “uniform lighting + key supplementary lighting”: 12 Color Imagination flat par lights are selected for basic lighting, with a power of 50W and adjustable color temperature from 3200K to 5600K. They are evenly installed under the ceiling in a matrix to provide soft and sufficient overall lighting; for the dining table area, 2 small LED wash par lights are matched above each area, with a power of 30W, which can adjust the brightness and warm tone range to create a warm and comfortable local lighting atmosphere for the dining area.

(3) Corridor and Entrance Area

Wall lights are installed on both sides of the corridor, with a design inspired by Lingnan traditional lanterns. The warm yellow light is soft and not dazzling, matching with the decorative paintings on the wall to create a cultural atmosphere of changing scenes with each step; wall washers are used at the entrance to illuminate the Yuqing Building signboard and carved door frames, improving the recognition and grandeur of the venue.

3. Project Implementation Process

3.1 Preliminary Preparation

Before the project started, the Color Imagination team conducted 3 on-site surveys, measured the space size in detail, recorded the decoration style and power layout, and communicated with the person in charge of Yuqing Building on the details of demand for many times. Finally, a complete construction plan and schedule were formed to ensure that the project would not affect the normal operation of the tea house (adopting the night construction mode).

3.2 Installation and Debugging

The engineering team consists of 10 professional and technical personnel, who completed the lamp installation, line laying, and system debugging in 7 days. During the installation process, fire protection regulations were strictly followed, all lines were made of flame-retardant materials, and the lamps were installed firmly and reliably; during the debugging stage, the switching effect of each scene mode, the uniformity of light brightness, and the stability of equipment were repeatedly tested to ensure that the design standards were met.

3.3 Personnel Training

After the project acceptance, Color Imagination provided 2 special trainings for the staff of Yuqing Building, including console operation, scene switching, daily maintenance, and simple troubleshooting, to ensure that the staff could proficiently master the system usage method.

The upgraded Yuqing Building has realized the flexible conversion of “one space, multiple scenarios” through optimized stage lighting: during the morning tea time, warm white stage lighting creates a bright and comfortable dining environment; during wedding banquets, full-color wash lights and pattern lights (including the moving head lights) create a romantic and festive atmosphere, and the “double happiness” character and Lingnan pattern projection on the background wall have become a highlight for guests to take photos; during Cantonese opera performances, professional stage lighting with precise control of moving head lights and beam lights accurately outlines the performer’s figure, enhancing the appeal of the performance. According to Yuqing Building’s statistics, after the project was completed, the number of package orders such as wedding banquets and birthday banquets increased by 30% year-on-year, and customer satisfaction with the stage lighting effect increased significantly.
